Description:

Gentamicin belongs to the group of aminoglycosides and acts bactericidal against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. The bactericidal action is based on inhibition of bacterial protein synthesis.

 

Indications:

Gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by gentamicin sensitive bacteria, like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp. in calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine.

 

Dosage:

For intramuscular administration. General:  Twice daily 1 ml per 20 - 40 kg body weight for 3 days.

 

Contra-indications:

Hypersensitivity to gentamicin, administration to animals with a serious impaired hepatic and/or renal function, concurrent administration of nephrotoxic substances.

 

Withdrawal times:

- For kidneys : 45 days.

- For meat : 7 days.

- For milk : 3 days.

 

Storage conditions:

Store in a dark place at room temperature 15-25˚C.
